Reclaiming Faith: Men and the Armor of God
Thankfully, 81% of Americans still believe in God, with 63% identifying as Christians.
They may not attend weekly services, but they still believe in the existence of God.
According to multiple surveys, 86% of people believe they have a soul and 79% believe there is a spiritual world beyond their earthly existence, even though they can’t see it. And lastly, 70% of Americans believe in the afterlife, including Heaven, Hell or both.
Obviously, for millions of Americans, Christianity continues to be the driving force behind the decisions deemed necessary to enrich their everyday lives. Their faith in God, and especially in Christ’s teachings, provides them with an important source of guidance, comfort and direction that affects nearly every aspect of their existence. Chris’ new coin, Armor of God, exemplifies these religious beliefs, and more recently, those beliefs are being embraced by more men than women.
Up until recently, women had been outpacing men in church attendance for decades.
By 2000, women were attending in greater numbers with 47% in attendance, as compared to 38% for men. After sustaining a general decline in church attendance during the covid-19 scare in 2020, men began returning to church in higher numbers than women. By 2022, 30% of men were attending weekly services as compared to just 27% of women. Overall attendance was on the rise as well, with weekly attendance reaching 28% for 2024. 2025 continued this upward trend as attendance at weekly services rose to 32%.
Volunteerism at church is also seeing an increase, and this is happening despite the declining number of Baby Boomer (9%) volunteers.
WE’re seeing an increase in church volunteers
Surprisingly, the young Gen Z (21%) and Millennials (19%) are making up the difference, with young men leading the way.
As more and more young men take up the Armor of God many churches are finally seeing a revival in their commitment to the fundamental principles of Christianity.
Up until the 1960s, and throughout history, men had always been the purveyors, protectors, and primary proponents of Christianity. The recent diversion away from those principles began when men stepped aside and advanced women within the male world of religion. As more and more women attained positions of influence within their churches, more and more men stopped attending church.
Today, most churches have lost their way, veering away from the Bible’s teachings, and in many cases, adopting positions in direct opposition to the Bible’s teachings. Without men’s strength, ability, tenacity, convictions, and strong leadership, backed up by the courage of their convictions, churches have become feckless outliers, focusing on fictional falsehoods.
Men need to rescue their churches, and so Chris’s new coin, Armor of God, is a call to action!
It’s time for men to stand up for what they know is right, good, and true.
It’s time for men to demonstrate to the world the power of scripture and prayer.
It’s time for men to, once again, become Christian soldiers and vanquish the advocates of evil!
