The American Lion
Clark Gable is dead. Gary Cooper is dead. John Wayne is dead. Charlton Heston is dead. Robert Mitchum is dead. James Cagney is dead. James Stewart is dead. Humphrey Bogart is dead. Spencer Tracy is dead. Gregory Peck is dead. Victor Mature is dead.
Tyrone Powers; Burt Reynolds; James Coburn; Anthony Quinn; Ernest Borgnine; Lee Marvin; James Garner; Henry Fonda; Kirk Douglas; Telly Savalas; William Holden; Robert Taylor; Paul Newman; George Kennedy; Charles Bronson; George C. Scott and Steve McQueen are all dead. Their deaths were not only a great loss for their families but they were also a tremendous loss for America too as most were members of the Greatest Generation.
These men were not only iconic American film stars, who portrayed the kinds of great men America was known world-wide for producing, but they were also great men themselves. Most were God-fearing men, who took very seriously, their responsibilities as husbands, fathers, friends, employees, movie idols, leaders, soldiers, and airmen, but most of all, as proud Americans. These were men who loved their country, and the opportunities it had blessed them with, in order to pursue their dreams. Most came from poor backgrounds and became living examples of the success of their pursuit of the American Dream.
Pursue your dreams in America and no one will stand in your way because we ALL benefit from your efforts to succeed.
These men were raised on American Christian ideals, and as such, they were first and foremost, not takers. They were givers. They gave freely of their time, money and talents for the betterment of others. Many, such as Clark Gable, James Stwart, Henry Fonda, Robert Taylor, Paul Newman and Kirk Douglas, gave-back even to the point of volunteering to risk their own lives during WWII in order to defend America at a time when it was not even required of them.
These impressive men had a powerful influence on America’s self-image. We knew through their private lives, and through their portrayals of some of our greatest Americans, such as Edison, Gen. Sherman, Lincoln, Davey Crockett, Pres. Andrew Jackson, Gen. Patton, Wild Bill Hickok, Major Rogers, Brigadier General Paul Tibbits, Jr., Teddy Roosevelt, Lou Gehrig and Wyatt Earp, who we were. And as a result of their efforts we lived vicariously through their private and professional lives and were proud to be Americans too!
Today, now that these great men are all gone, who have we become? Anyone? But, more importantly, who has replaced these stellar Americans as our leaders and influencers? Anyone? Anyone?
The truth is that America, no thanks to its lopsided immigration policies and its vastly expanded affirmative action programs, has become a collapsing house divided. America no longer prides itself on its exceptionalism, but celebrates its divisive mediocrity.
We now lack strong men with the courage of their convictions and their faith at their backs. Simply put, we lack true leaders and instead have become a land of distracted appeasers, placaters and panderers while “leading” the lambs to slaughter. We’ve taken our eye off the ball.
This CANNOT stand!
We have regressed so far as a nation, and have fallen so far away from everything that made America great, that we are now in dire need of an American LION to fix things. A Lion who can return us to our former glory. A Lion who loves this country. A Lion who understands what we’ve lost and how to get it back again. A Lion who understands the importance of allowing the unfettered, unregulated pursuit of the American Dream. A Lion who understands how those men’s blood, sweat and tears benefits all Americans. A Lion who gives unselfishly of his time, money and talent for the betterment of others and strives to Make America Great Again.
It is a reflection of our times that Donald Trump is the only person on the horizon who can do all of this. Sadly, all the others we mentioned are gone and worse, we have failed to nurture any real men to replace them.
Chris’ coin this week, “Trump- American Lion”, once again exemplifies this reality and honors this Lion of an American man. Any one of the former Heros of Hollywood would be proud to call President Trump “friend”. He stands for everything they fought for.
Buy the American Lion. Give the coins out to others as a sign of your patriotism and your conviction that Trump is the Man of the Hour. Carry one in your pocket to remind yourself that this persecuted man is risking everything he has to save America and return it to its illustrious roots.
But, more importantly, vote for Trump on Tuesday, November 5th because, if you love America, it is probably the most crucially important obligation you will ever have to fulfill in your life.
Remember, it’s crunch time!
